Sapphic Safari
Ditch the dating apps, come touch some grass
Sapphic Safari is a hiking and social club for women, non-binary people, and anyone who identifies within the WLW community to explore and actually enjoy dating or just make some lush new mates.
We take away the pressure of loud bars or awkward small talk over expensive cocktails and replace it with mother nature and having a general frolic around!

The Sapphic Safari will be kicking off our next event in the beautiful Epping Forest! This beautiful circular route takes us through ancient woodland, open grassland, and peaceful green space just outside London.
Come join us on a stroll of this ancient royal hunting forest and do some hunting of your own with our Treasure Hunt. As we walk, keep an eye out for treasures dangling in the trees - you can win prizes, whilst getting to know other queer folk!
We’ll stop for a group picnic half way to enjoy the view and get to know each other better! The ticket prices include a lovely picnic spread including sandwiches and cakes and somewhere to sit down to natter, eat and relax!
After some carbs and sweet treats, we'll finish off the circular - continuing the treasure hunt and finishing at the biggest treasure their can be at the end of a hike... a pub!
The event will officially finish here, and you're then welcome to stay, drink and be merry at this pub. Please note this wont be a queer venue, as Epping is unfortunately limited in those.

FAQ about Sapphic Safari
I’ve never hiked before — is this for me?
Yes! This is a beginner-friendly route and open to all fitness levels.
If you can walk, wear decent shoes, and bring water — you’re good to go.
Is this a dating event?
Kind of — but also not really.
It’s a space to meet people naturally. Some come for dating, some for friendships, some for both. No pressure either way.
I have some mobility issues, will this walk be suitable for me?
We want this space inclusive for everyone, and because its a circular route - this means that you don't necessarily have to do the whole thing - drop us a email and we can make a bespoke plan for you - where we reduce the length of the hike for you, and you meet us for all the fun parts!
What if the weather is bad?
We can’t guarantee sunshine (this is the UK, after all), but the hike will go ahead in most conditions.
If anything extreme happens, we’ll contact everyone in advance.
Do I need to come with someone?
Absolutely not. Most people will come solo — that’s kind of the point.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, absolutely. However, we do ask to only bring dogs who are able to handle the activity of walking with a big group of people, sitting around human food without helping themselves and wouldn’t have issues with other dogs in the group or dogs we walk past!
Do I bring my child?
Absolutely, we do ask that you supervise your child at all times and anyone over 18 would have to purchase their own ticket.
